I build infrastructure for founders: capital, capability and community. For more than 30 years that has meant backing founders, building the organizations that serve them, and shaping the policy that decides who gets access to money.
I am the CEO and Founder of New Majority Ventures and New Majority Ventures University, a General Partner at BEA Venture Fund, and Managing Director of Entrepreneurship Initiatives at the BEA Foundation. I teach as a Professor of Practice at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business.
I have built and exited two companies of my own, one venture backed and one self funded. I served as a Presidential appointee in the Clinton and Obama administrations, in roles spanning Treasury, AmeriCorps, the Department of Education and the White House Office of Social Innovation and Civic Participation.
Along the way I have supported more than 8,000 founders and contributed to more than $1B in wealth creation. This work is not charity. It is performance.
